iCollege Courses Listed in NICCS Training Catalog

By Patricia Coopersmith | February 04, 2015

According to the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS), which is managed by the Cybersecurity Education and Awareness Branch (CEA) within the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C), "Promoting and expanding cybersecurity education is essential to protecting the Nation’s critical infrastructure. In order for the United States to best protect our interests in the 21st century, a new workforce needs to be educated and the current workforce needs additional skills. From elementary schools to postgraduate institutions, educators need to understand the critical knowledge, skills and abilities that future cybersecurity professionals need to learn."

The iCollege is happy to announce that we are now listed as an educational provider in the NICCS training catalog. You can search courses and other information here: http://niccs.us-cert.gov/training/tc.

Our courses are provided via the eResident model (online reading prior to the course, 1 week/5 days in residence at the National Defense University's campus on Fort McNair (Washington, DC), then 3 weeks to complete assignment online), or via a 12-week completely online Distributed Learning (DL) program, or through a combination of these methods.   We also offer a 14-week resident Advanced Management Program (AMP) for those wishing to complete a full graduate certificate in a compressed time frame.
