Prof Mark Duke Speaks About Cyber to FSI Audience

On Wednesday, June 22, Professor Mark Duke of the NDU iCollege spoke to a large audience at the State Department's Foreign Service Institute (FSI) on the topic of Cyber Security in the Federal Sector. 

 

The School of Applied Information Technology (SAIT), Research, Learning & Development (RLD) Division in concert with the IRM Tradecraft Program invited Professor Duke to address the IRM Tradecraft – Class#45.  The presentation encompassed the subject of “Cyber Security in the Federal Sector" and was open to all FSI personnel.  

 

Mr. Duke’s areas of expertise include Information Assurance & Information Security, Network Engineering & Network Security, Certification & Accreditation (C&A), Emerging Technologies, and Fiber Optics & Wireless Systems and Telecommunications. Prior to joining the Information Resources Management College faculty, Mr. Duke served over 25 years in the U.S. Army, within U.S. Signal Corps Communication and Electronics. Mr. Duke was also a Joint Duty Officer with the National Security Agency as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) while supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), DoD Joint Staff, the many organizations within the Intelligence Community (IC), and numerous Non-DoD agencies.


Courses include: Information Assurance and Critical Infrastructure Protection (AII), Approval to Operate: Information System Certification & Accreditation (ATO), and Global Enterprise Networking and Telecommunications (GEN), and Global Information Grid (GIG).  Duke has a B.A. from Sam Houston State University, an M.A. from Webster University, and an M.S. from George Mason University.  He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering with George Washington University. He speaks to numerous audiences across the country about Cyber Security.
