Colonel Eric Bjorklund is an Army Strategist with over 20 years of active-duty service. During this time, he has worked in a variety of Army, Joint, and interagency planning, strategy, and policy roles.
His professional experience includes being a strategic planner in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy focused on the consolidation and reorganization of the DoD effort to account for missing personnel from past conflicts, later established as the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. Also, he served as policy branch chief and planner at the newly-created Army Cyber Command; legislative and governance branch chief within the Multi-National Force-Iraq staff; and instructor and later Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY teaching undergraduate courses in international relations, East Asian politics, and national security studies. Before Eric became an Army Strategist, he served as an Armor officer in a variety of Cavalry and Aviation units. His overseas tours include Kuwait, Korea, and Iraq.
Eric has master’s degrees in international security studies from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, cyber leadership from the National Defense University’s College of Information and Cyberspace, and national security strategy from the National War College. He has a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Military Academy where his focus was on international/strategic history.
