Mr. Charles McLaughlin recently served as a Senior Advisor (SES) at DoS Office of Policy Planning (2020-2021) and Director for Strategic Planning for the National Security Council (2018-2020) with an MBA from MIT (2001), MA from Harvard in Russian and Eurasian Studies (1999), and Master of Strategic Studies from USAWC (2011).  He brings an eclectic background of skills including numerous civilian strategy and consulting positions since 2000 prior to rejoining government service in 2017.  He has credibility with combat, Joint Staff service, teaching overseas for Harvard, teaching at West Point as a reservist, and a CIC guest lecturer.
