COL Raul Rodriguez-Medellin

USCYBERCOM Representative to CIC

COL Rodriguez serves as the Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Engagements in the US Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) J5 and as the USCYBERCOM Representative to the College of Information and Cyberspace (CIC).

COL Rodriguez was commissioned in 1999 through the Wisconsin Military Academy’s Officer Candidate School.  Following his commissioning, he served in a variety of operational assignments, initially as the Platoon Leader for Delta Company, 632d Armor Battalion, Mosinee Wisconsin.  COL Rodriguez then became the Platoon Leader and Executive Officer for Charlie Company, 2-128 Infantry Battalion in Reedsburg Wisconsin.  Afterwards, COL Rodriguez assumed command of Delta Company 2-128 in Watertown, Wisconsin.

COL Rodriguez has held various staff assignments, to include Traditional Commanders Activities (TCA) Coordinator with the Military Group, US Embassy Managua, Nicaragua.  State Partnership Program Coordinator and Joint Exercise Planner with the United States Southern Command, Miami Florida.  Capitol Dome/Capitol Shield Exercise planner for the National Guard’s Joint Readiness Center in Washington DC.  COL Rodriguez worked in the Army National Guard’s Operations Division-G3 as the United States Pacific Command Desk Officer.  COL Rodriguez deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait with the Wisconsin National Guard’s 32d Infantry Brigade’s HHC and worked as the Liaison Officer between the Area Support Group-Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Armed Forces.  Upon his return from Kuwait, COL Rodriguez became the Branch Chief for the J-5/8 at the National Guard’s Joint Readiness Center.  COL Rodriguez then worked as the Executive Officer and Deputy Brigade Commander for 5th Armored Brigade at Fort Bliss, Texas. Prior to his position at CYBERCOM, COL Rodriguez, worked as the Global Force Management Branch Chief, Head Quarters Department of the Army, HQDA G-3/5/7.

COL Rodriguez is married to the former Maria Gabriela Herrera-Montealegre, they have two daughters, Paulina Isabel (14) and Abigail Marie (7)
