Relevant Professional Experience:
Ms. Coopersmith is currently the Director of Outreach and Academic Partnerships and a professor at the National Defense University iCollege, a corporate university of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). As a member of the college’s leadership team, she reports to the Dean of Administration and to the iCollege Chancellor.  Ms. Coopersmith manages the college’s 30+ academic partner universities, is course leader for the Process Improvement course, and also oversees marketing product development and event management.  She networks with high-level government, private sector, and international leaders on a regular basis.  Before joining DOD in 2005, she worked at IBM and at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC Consulting) as a senior management consultant for 10 years, working with numerous government clients on Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and performance improvement engagements. Prior to her management and consulting efforts, Ms. Coopersmith served as an Industrial Engineer and Total Quality Management (TQM) analyst at several Westinghouse Corporation facilities, including the Savannah River Site nuclear clean-up operation and the Lima, Ohio aircraft engine facility.  Ms. Coopersmith guest lectures at local universities on communications techniques, process management, and human resource development.  She was an adjunct professor at the University of Mary Washington and an award winner for Meritorious Service in Information Technology (presented by AFCEA) and for Best Corporate/College Partnerships (presented by the Corporate University Xchange).  Ms. Coopersmith completed certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and as a Zenger-Miller Leadership Consultant, and she is currently completing coursework towards a cybersecurity NSTISSI 4011 Certificate.
