Relevant Professional Experience:
Prior to joining the College of Information and Cyberspace, Vern Wendt was assigned to the Pentagon as a member of the J6 Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems, the Joint Staff, where she led information sharing projects such as biometrics and multi-national information sharing. She recently retired after serving over 21 years with the U.S. Army Signal Corps Communications and Electronics community in a variety of positions that included installing an extensive satellite/radio/fiber-optic communications network in Iraq, overseeing classified and unclassified network operations, and developing Intelligence Community (IC) network architecture.
Scholarship:
Vern Wendt's areas of expertise include wireless and web technologies and telecommunications and information technology (IT) management. Her future scholarship will be in the area of mobile technologies and collaborative systems.
