Dean of Students and Sea Services Chair

Captain Mills is the Dean of Students and Sea Services Chair for the College of Information and Cyberspace at the National Defense University

CAPT Mills is a Naval Intelligence Officer and received his commission in 2000, following seven years as an enlisted submariner.  At sea, CAPT Mills has served and deployed on the USS OLYMPIA (SSN-717), USS BOXER (LHD-4), USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19), USS WASP (LHD-1), and USS AMERICA (LHA-6), and has served on the Seventh Fleet, and Expeditionary Strike Group Seven Staffs forward deployed to Japan. 

Ashore, CAPT Mills has served as the Deputy Defense Intelligence Agency Liaison (DIAL) to Ottawa, Canada, an Assistant Program Manager at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command, and within the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations, which included a deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

CAPT Mills earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from the New School for Social Research, a Master of Arts in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College.
