Major Frederick L. Pack IV is a member of the military faculty and the Director of Operations at the College of Information and Cyberspace, National Defense University, Fort Lesley J. McNair, DC. He oversees day-to-day operations for the college, including academic and program support and the 868-thousand-dollar budget. Additionally, he has instructor duties for several graduate courses within the college’s curriculum.
Major Pack began his career by enlisting in the Air Force in 2002 and served as a Computer Systems Programmer. He was stationed at Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex developing business systems and working in software security before being assigned to the White House Communications Agency in 2010. In 2013, Major Pack attended Officer Training School and was commissioned as a Cyberspace Operations Officer. He has served in a variety of operational and staff assignments, including base communications, coalition partnership building, and the intelligence community. Prior to his current position, Major Pack was the Chief of Cybersecurity for Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Systems at Headquarters Air Force. Major Pack has been stationed at various locations and deployed three times during his career.
Major Pack holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Troy University and a M.S. in Technology Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He also holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification since 2015.
