Matt Easley serves as Professor and Associate Dean of Joint Warfighting at the National Defense University (NDU), College of Information and Cyberspace.  Prior to joining NDU, Matt served as the Principal Deputy Information Operations Advisors in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, where he oversaw the development of the Department’s Strategy for Operations in the Information Environment and a posture review of its information forces.  In the Army, he served as a tactical signal officer with command and staff positions varying from platoon leader to brigade commander, as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Headquarters Department of the Army, and as the director of the Army Artificial Intelligence Task Force, where he wrote the Army’s AI Strategy.  Earlier in his career he was a senior systems engineer with the Boeing Company and served as a chief engineer for multiple research and development programs focusing on mission systems for the Department of Defense.  He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an MS in electrical engineering from Kansas State University, a master’s in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a BS in electrical engineering from West Point.
